One of my very favorite things every spring is the return of the lilac blooms to the gardens in my neighborhood. They even grow wild along the side of the road. I just love their sweet scent, the bright green of their leaves and the beauty of their blooms in the Spring sunshine. When my husband and I moved to our current home over five years ago, the very first thing I did was plant a lilac bush in our garden during the first Spring we lived here. And I've waited and waited... and waited some more for it to bloom. This year, my patience was finally rewarded!
