Welcome to the *first* Makeover Monday! This will be a bi-monthly feature here on our team blog where we’ll encourage you to dig through that hard drive and find a layout you don’t like so much, then give it a FABULOUS makeover using Trixie Scraps Designs products!
So, here’s how this will work… every two weeks, we’ll be challenging you to makeover a layout with us. We encourage you to make a new layout using the same photos and at least 75% Trixie Scraps Designs products. Then, come here to our blog and post a comment with two links – one to the old layout and one to the new one! Every two weeks, we’ll choose one person who will win a FREE kit from Trixie’s shop. Sounds fun, right??
So, since I am the host this week, I decided to makeover this layout:
I made this layout a long time ago (years and years ago!), and just threw things on willy nilly. It’s also not really my style of elements. Plus the lower photo is a lower quality photo, so when printing it, the results will be poor, so I removed the photo. I absolutely love the top pic and thought it needed more highlighting and prominence. I redid this using several things by Trixie Scraps: Front & Center vol 2 Templates, Yuletide (I think this is my favorite Christmas scrap kit ever!!), Carly, My Ribbon Rack – Christmas Traditional, Stamped, Dated and Stated. *whew*!
Erica also played along and created an amazing layout with Tracy’s new kit A Mother’s Love! Here’s the old one:
And here is the fantastic re-do!
Carrin knocked out a stunner too, she redid this layout:
And her beautiful redo, she also used the fantastic new collab A Mother’s Love.
And I couldn’t help myself, I had this amazing photo of Sam and it was one of the first scrapbook pages I did…. in 2006! A photo this wonderful definitely needed a redo and when I saw Tracy’s fantastic A Mother’s Love, I knew it was the perfect match… so here is my other old layout:
And the new and improved version:
Please join me in the makeover challenge – you never know, you might just win a free kit from Trixie Scraps! Have fun!
