For today I have a quick little White Space tip for ya. I am by no means an expert on “white space” layouts, but I have been working on my own way of perfecting them that works for me. I feel that when it comes to these type of layouts, it is all about the placement. For this tutorial I am using the awesome Sunday Afternoon by Trixie Scraps and Designs by Sarah Bennett. I will usually start by placing my photo(s) right in the middle of my page. My background papers are already in place because I usually do them first. Then I cluster all my elements, my title and anything else I want around the photo. Once all that is done, I select every layer in my layers pallet EXCEPT the background papers:
With all those layers selected, click the bounding box around your photo(s) and drag the whole cluster around your page. Change the size, placement and even the angle until you find a spot for it that you love! Here are some examples:
Maybe in the process of doing this, you decide that your layout looks better with the photo(s) and clustering taking up most of the page, nothing wrong with that!
This is a fun way to play and try new ways of placing your photo(s) that you might now have thought of before!
