I would like to introduce you to one of Trixie Scraps’ creative team members, Jamie.
Please tell us a little bit about you and your family. I have been married to my best friend for 15 fantastic years. I have four very active children ranging in age between 14-8. Between guitar lessons and dance team there isn’t a whole lot of me time left.
How did you discover digital scrapbooking? I have been in the photography business for 12 years. I have always enjoyed the graphic side of photography just as much as actually taking the pictures. One day I came across a free kit, and I haven’t stopped digi-scrapping since.
What program do you use for scrapbooking? I am a Photoshop lover. I have taught myself just about everything I know. I am currently using the CS5 program.
Please share your favorite digi-scrapping technique or a new one you recently learned. My favorite new trend of technique is layouts with a paper that is masked to give a grunge look or to add a glow.
What attracted you to Trixie Scraps? The first Trixie Scraps kit that I put on my wish list was Old Glory. I loved all the detail that Trixie used in her kit. The flowers were wonderful and I loved all the flag elements. From there on I was hooked and each week I had to have her new releases.
What do you scrap about the most? The thing I scrap about the most is my kids and my family.
What was the most complicated page you ever created? hmmm. That is tough question, I think that some layouts are complicated in different ways. It may not just be the technique that is complicated.
This was a difficult layout to make not because of the scrapping, but because of the memory that goes with it. My grandmother was very dear to my heart and I miss her and think of her every day that she has been gone. It has been just over 5 years.
What is your favorite music, book, and/or movie or a recent one you enjoyed? I enjoy all kinds of music. One of my favorite artists right now is Adelle, I love her voice. I went and saw Jack and Jill with my family on Thanksgiving and we all laughed a lot at that movie, and I absolutely loved the book The Help. The movie was great too.
Please describe something about where you live. I live in Utah. From my house I can see Timpanogos Mountain to the North, and then other mountains all around. To the west of me is Utah Lake. I love where I live. It is such a beautiful place.
If you could have dinner with any person from the past, who would you choose and what would you ask him or her? If I could I would eat dinner with Joseph Smith. He endured so many challenges. The first thing that I would ask him is why he never gave up, and the other thing that I would ask him is what did he learn from being persecuted.
What else do you do besides scrapbooking? There are many things that I enjoy doing. I am currently attending a local University to get a degree in Special Ed. I love photography and wish I had more time to get out and photograph the world we live in. I am also a craft-a-holic. I am always making things.
Any words of wisdom, a favorite quote, or something unique about you that you’d like to share? “The secret to having it all, is knowing that you already do!”
Now that is inspiring! Have a fabulous Sunday everyone!
