Make it Hybrid Monday - Mother's Day Mini Album

Happy Monday everyone! Mother’s Day is coming up soon and I was thinking for a while what I wanted to do for my mother. She’s always complaining she doesn’t have any photos her grandson within reach. She has multiple offices at her job across a few towns so I definitely was thinking something portable. So, I decided on this easy accordion mini album that I will fill with photos of my son Angel.

What you’ll need to complete the project:
Printed cardstock from your favorite kit
Multiple Wallet Sized Photos (2.5x 3.5) – I choose one for each page for a total of six
Adhesive (dots or tape runner)
Ribbon
Any embellishments you wish to add

1. For starters, pick your kit of choice. Today, I’m working with Blue Skies Ahead.

Then, you’ll need to print out two 4.5 x 10 rectangles for the background and six smaller rectangles, sized (3×4). I choose a neutral background and six patterned papers.

2. Take the two 4.5×10 rectangles and score them into thirds (on the 3.3 inch mark), turning the rectangle over for the middle fold, so you will end up with an accordion fold. Repeat this step for the second rectangle.

3. Attach them together with your adhesive. Now you’ll have one long accordian folded rectangle.

4. Fold and close your accordian book so you can see which flaps will be the front and back covers. Adhere a patterned paper to the back cover.

5. For the front cover, you will want to attach your ribbon and position it so when you close the book, you can tie it evenly along the opening. Then you can adhere your patterned paper over top of the ribbon. Next, decorate your cover. I used the kit alpha for my title and a few layered paper elements that I created in Photoshop.

6. Then flip the book over and cover all the inside pages with the remaining of your patterned papers.

7. Now decorate the inside with your photos and embellishments as you please. I added felt clouds and paper photo corners. Close up your mini album and tie the ribbon into a bow. Now your mini is complete!
