Happy Make it Hybrid Monday everyone! There are so many occasions for gifts around this time of year: Graduations, End of the Year Teacher gifts, Father’s Day and of course Celebrating the beginning of Summer! As a tradition of mine, my friends and I get together in the later days of June and I’m the one who usually organizes the details. I always do something to hint on where we’re going to meet and I thought it would be cute if this year the hint is a gift card. So, I decided to make this simple but cute gift card holder with my digi supplies.
Here’s what you’ll need:
~ Your favorite digital kit – I used Fishy Friends kit and Clusters
~ Paper cutter & Scissors (or if you don’t have a paper cutter, just Scissors)
~ Scoring blade or bone folder
~ A hole puncher
~ Coordinating ribbon
1. Create a 7 x 4 inch rectangle with your digital paper of choice. For this project, I used Fishy Friends kit and Clusters.
2. Create your sentiment using the kit alpha or your favorite font, and place on the top ½ inch of the
rectangle. I also used a pre-made border to the top, which can be found here:
Be sure to rotate your entire title 180 degrees so it looks upside down for now.
3. Print this out on white cardstock and cut it out.
4. Using your scoring blade attachment or your bone folder, score the rectangle at the 3 inch mark and again at the 6 inch mark.
5. Fold on the scored lines so each piece is overlapping each other in the middle. Your sentiment should be flipped the right way now.
6. Punch two holes through the top inch. This is where you will thread your ribbon.
7. Using your scissors, make two diagonal slits. You can use your gift card as a guide on where to make these slits. This will keep the gift card tightly in place.
8. Close the holder with the sentiment showing on top and thread your ribbon through the two holes. Tie it tightly in a bow. Add embellishments to the front of the holder if you wish. Because my title work is detailed, I decided to leave the bottom without embellishments.
Your gift card holder is now complete! I hope you can use this when dressing up your gift cards in the near future!
