SPotlight on Mary-Lynne - A little romance is good for the soul

Once a month, we like to shine the spotlight on one of YOU! This month we are talking to Mary-Lynne, after I saw some of her beautiful work in the Scrapbook-Bytes gallery!

Mary-Lynne, can you tell us a little about yourself?

The most important thing about me, is that I’m a Mom to 2 grown kids and a Nana to Caity. 99% of my pages involve those three people. I just got back from Florida after attending Caity’s Sweet 16 party, so look for LOTS of pages on that.

How did you get into digi-scrapping?

I got into digi when I had hip surgery and was immobilized for 2 weeks in 2004. I thought I’d give it a try and then get back to my “real love”…paper scrapping. I never looked back. I love that “preparing” to scrap means turning on my computer and “cleaning up” means turning off my computer!

You know, hip surgery probably wasn’t fun, but I am so glad you got into digi! I hear you on the cleaning up too – it’s my favorite digi-perk. Do you have a favorite Trixie Scraps kit?

Favorite kit of Trixie’s is usually her newest one! But, Oceanside (cause I love the ocean), If The Slipper Fits (cause it’s sooooo Caity) and Puddle Jumpers (love the colors) are a some of my favs. Oh, and Natural Beauty (cause I love to be outdoors). Her glitter papers are the best I’ve seen.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I get most of my inspiration from the gallery. When I buy a kit, the first thing I do, is search the gallery for layouts using the kit. I usually start planning to do a complete scraplift and end up with something marginally similar!

I love surfing the gallery for all kinds of great ideas! Do you have a favorite time to scrap?

I’m retired, so I can scrap anytime, but my favorite time is in the morning. My DH goes to work and I can focus on my pictures and my scrapping. I don’t listen to anything while I’m scrapping. I used to have my soap opera on while I scrapped, but I get so focused, I’d miss everything and have to watch it again anyway!

I’m terrible at multi-tasking when I scrap too. I think if I try to scrap I end up watching the show that’s on 2 or 3 times before I get it all! I’m a book lover, so I have to know, what do you like to read?

I’m a big reader and will read anything by Nora Roberts and Jude Deveraux…a little romance is good for the soul!

Ahhhh, romance…. Okay, if you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be?

I would love to have dinner with Jeff Gordon. I’m a huge Nascar fan and he has been my favorite driver since the mid 90’s. I’d love to get some real insider info on the team.
