Hi everyone and welcome to another installment of Make It Hybrid Monday. This week, we’re going to create a fun, versatile and easy pop up card using one of Trixie Scraps’ most recent kits, Sunshine Day, which just makes sunshine pop up everywhere with its bright colors and patterns.
Supplies needed:
– Patterned paper/ cardstock
– Scissors
– Glue
– Elements
– Embellishments
First, create the base card by folding the patterned paper/ cardstock in half and cutting two pieces of patterned paper/ cardstock to your desired size. I folded a 8.5×11 piece of paper with preprinted patterned papers in half to create the two cards.
Second, identify how many elements/ embellishments you would like to pop up out of your card. You will need a set of parallel lines for each element. Cut parallel lines into the fold of one of the cards that you created in the step above. The cuts that you make should be no larger than half of the length of the card. I cut three sets of lines for the three elements I wanted to attach to the card.
Once you have completed your cuts, open the card and push the flaps forward. Crease the center of the fold. Attach your elements onto these flaps and decorate with embellishments as desired. I glittered my sun and stitched down my wording.
Allow time to dry. Once dried, attach the second card on the outside of your first card and decorate.
You can use this technique for a variety of cards. Happy crafting!
