It’s time for another Tips, Trends and Techniques Tuesday! Jennifer here with another organizational tip. I’m a bit of a template addict as well as an organizational junkie. Last fall, I shared an organizational tip about how I tag my templates by the number of photo spots on each page. Today, I’m going to share how I sort my photos.
In my Pictures folder, I have a folder for each year – 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. In each of those folders, I have a folder for each month. So in 2012, so far I have these folders – 01-12, 02-12, 03-12, 04-12, 05-12, and 06-12.
When I download pictures from my camera, I just dump them all into the appropriate folder.
When I have a few minutes to spare, I go back and grab pictures I want to scrap and try to get those organized. For each group of pictures I want to scrap, I create a new folder with the date and event name within a folder I named “Scrapbook Pages To Create”. I copy all the pictures from the event into that folder and then go thru them and select the ones I want to scrap with and delete the rest. Once I have the pictures I want, I go back and add that info to the folder name.
Now when I’m ready to sit down and scrap, I can browse thru my folder of pictures waiting to be scrapped and match them up with a template with the same number of photo spots.
I used the My Brother, My Pal kit and page starters for my finished page:
I hope this tip saves you some time the next time you sit down to scrap!
