I love weekends, especially Saturdays. Not only is it a day where I usually have nothing going on, it’s also Saturday With The Stars. I love these posts and they always keep me inspired. This week is no exception.
With school starting for my kids on Tuesday (I know a lot of you have already started), this kit couldn’t have come at a better time. This week the Stars all worked with Apples for Teacher and some of our Stars even used Trixie’s new template kit Layer Lovers 2.
Lisa was one who used Layer Lovers 2 and I love how the page came out. Her choice of papers really helps draw your eye to the cute little girl heading off to school. I also like that Lisa chose to use apples as the main paper and embellishment, it goes along so well with the little girl’s cute, cute dress.
Lori’s page has me wishing it was me going back to school again. I like the fact that even though Lisa and Lori used the same background paper, their pages are so different. Her skewed title with the subtitle underneath is a great way to make a title for a page. The pencil border brings to mind the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and all that goes along with a new year of school starting. And who can resist the excitement and energy that little boy has? It’s so infectious!
I love what Carrin did. She also used Layer Lovers 2, but turned it sideways so that it’s a fresh view on the template. I love that she has individual pictures of each child and then one of them together (even if the little girl didn’t cooperate so well). It’s a great way to showcase each of your kids on the same page.
Kris also used Layer Lovers 2, but I like that she chose to use one of the areas for journaling. I also enjoy that she took the time to give credit to the teachers who influenced her son. I think teachers get overlooked a lot and I think it’s great that her son will always know what these ladies did for him, even if he doesn’t realize it now.
And last, but not least. Jennifer B. really amazed me. I love it when people can think ‘outside of the box.’ Even though her boys are ‘learning’ it’s not a school themed layout. I also think it’s great that she took part of the Layer Lovers 2 and then added more to it along the bottom. What a great way to incorporate templates, but make it your own.
The stars did a wonderful job with this kit and template pack. As always, you can see more in the Trixie Scraps Gallery and don’t forget to buy Apples for Teacher and Layer Lovers 2 to complete all of your Back To School layouts.
