Happy Monday everybody. If you’re anything like me, I’ll bet you are anxiously awaiting this time next week. Christmas Eve is always a big part of our holiday festivities in my family. Aside from a big family get together, featuring lots of yummy food, and the opportunity to open one soft present from under the tree (always this year’s Christmas pajamas), Christmas Eve is the time when my family goes to mass. My favorite part of this is always the Christmas carols that are part of the service. Luckily, Christmas Eve isn’t the only time I get to enjoy caroling. My family Christmas party, which usually happens around the beginning of December to accommodate the busy schedules of a large extended family, always features a sing-along that spans well into the night. The inspiration for today’s post comes from both of these traditions, along with a recent new release, Winter Carolers.
One of the problems that we often run into when caroling at our family party is that we often forget the lyrics. A few years ago, one of my cousins had the foresight to print several copies of a few songs off the internet, but after several years of use, the pages are looking a bit shabby, and since they are on loose paper they can easily be misplaced. The first thing that sprung to mind when I saw Winter Carolers, is “Now I can make a songbook to give my cousin as a hostess gift.” The party is at the same house every year, and it would make such a lovely memento for future years. Hear are a couple of the pages that I have completed so far.

Lyrics by Irving Berlin
I intend to scrap all of the carols that my family sings each year, and maybe even including a few new ones that aren’t in our repertoire yet. If caroling is part of your holiday season, why not consider putting together a songbook of your own. If Christmas carols aren’t your thing, this would also be a great idea for campfire songs to take on your summer cottage and camping trips.
Hope I’ve given some of you a little inspiration today. If you create a page featuring the lyrics from your favorite carols or songs, be sure to share them with us in the gallery.

Love the Christmas Carol pages! Simply beautiful!! I saw this kit was used in a layout as I browsed the GP gallery this morning and went looking for it… can’t find the kit anywhere. I love what I’ve seen with the layouts! Adding to my wish list for sure.
