Happy Saturday everyone! Today is groundhog day, and I don’t now about you, but I sure am hoping that little guy does not see his shadow. I want winter outta here as soon as possible. This week brought us another great new release from North Meets South Studios. In my opinion you can never have too many templates in your stash, and the February 2013 – Templatetopia is a fantastic addition to anyone’s collection.
These monthly template packs are such a steal. Four packs of four templates, a total of SIXTEEN brand new templates, for one low price. You definitely should pick the pack up while it is on sale this month. The Scrap Stars always have a great time playing with these template packs. Let’s take a look at some of their amazing work.
This layout by Shawna jumped out at me right away. I love the vibrant colors of all those stacked papers, and those big bold clusters. She also made great use of the stitching on this page. It’s an element that is often overlooked, but adds such a gorgeous finishing touch to a page.
This month’s pack includes several pages with lots of little Instagram sized photo spaces. Stacey put one of these pages to great use and captured a whole lot of great muscle man poses from her son. I just love all of the cute little expressions on his face, and this template makes it easy to fit in the photos from the whole shoot. The way she alternated color and black & white photos is a fabulous touch.
Mary Kate has created a stunning layout using a black & white photo and mainly black & white elements. This makes the few pieces of bright green really pop, and since the elements that are clustered around the photo are brightly colored too, they really draw the eye in to the center of the page. Her title work is just so perfect for that picture too.
There must be something in the air this month, because Kris also used a fabulous black & white photo to create a beautiful page. Black, white, and red is such a classic combination, and it gives this page such an elegant look. I love all the circles of patterned papers, the rose petal scatter behind the photo, and the nice big block of journaling. The black paper that is used as a mat for the whole page gives it a nice polished look.
Talk about technology! Helen S made great use of those little square photo spots to place some QR codes on her page. The pictures do a great job of capturing her little girl’s fun dancing, but imagine how fabulous it will to be to scan that code one day while flipping through a scrapbook and pull up video footage. Such a great idea!
As always February 2013 Templatetopia is available as a pack for one month only, so be sure to go pick it up at a great price while you can.
