Welcome to another Saturday, Trixie Fans. I’m always excited for Saturdays, because it means I’ve made it though another week – it’s also always fun to look through what our Trixie Scrap Stars have done with new kits.
Today I get to share with you one of Trixie’s newest kits, It’s Her Birthday.
I love the color palatte in this kit – it’s colors I wouldn’t think to put together, but Trixie did a great job and the colors go together quite well. I love all the little birthday themed elements that come in this kit as well, and it’s the perfect kit for me to scrap my oldest daughter’s birthday with.
Here’s a look at what some of our stars did with this awesome kit.
I love that MK chose to scrap a picture of her on her birthday and didn’t use this kit for her kids. It’s great to scrap those pictures of our kids, but we need to remember ourselves at times and make sure we’re included in our books as well. I enjoy the feel of her layout and the way she used the white space. I enjoy the cluster along the bottom of her photo and the fun ribbons on the top of her page.
1st birthdays are always a fun thing to celebrate. Shauna’s layout shows just how fun a first birthday can be. She used It’s Her Birthday along with a template from April’s Templatetopia and I love how this page came together. I love all the fun elements she put on her page, especially the cupcakes. I really like the photo strips and the photos. Way too cute.
Stacy also chose to show the fun of a 1st birthday and 1st cake and used a template from April’s Templatetopia. I love the way the papers she chose all seem to work together, even though she used a few different patterns. I also like the fun circles on her page, but that the photo was kept in a rectangle shape. She has some fantastic cluster work on her page and added a fun journal card as well. I am also loving her photo, who can resist that cute little crown on her daughter’s head?
If you’re like me, sometimes you have trouble using the cardstock in a way that shows the whole paper. Lori did a great job with this. She used the cardstock as her background paper, but brought in some more depth by using strips of patterned paper beneath her photo. I love the elements she used, especially the clip. I also like that she chose to scrap her own birthday and the cute little date strip to the left of her photo.
I’ve mentioned before how I love it when people think outside of the box and use kits for a use other than what the kit is designed for. It helps lend ideas of other ways this kit can be used. Carrin is great at doing this and has once again made an awesome page and it has nothing to do with birthdays.
I really like the sunburst background paper and that everything is set in one corner. I love all the circles she has surrounding her photo and the cute flower elements popping out here and there. I also like that her title is done in 3 different alphas and that the word ‘butterfly’ isn’t set in a straight line.
If those examples aren’t enough to convince you that you need It’s Her Birthday, take a look in the gallery at more layouts made with this kit and I’m sure you’ll decide it’s a kit you need. Once you get the kit, remember to share your awesome work with us in the gallery.
