Hello everybody and welcome to July! Where is the summer going? Time just seems to pass so pass when the weather is nice, and if you’re anything like me, there are a ton of things that you’d like to get done while the hot summer weather is here. With so much to do, and so little time, I’ve got a Masters Monday project for you today that can help you keep your summer on track. Today we’ll take a look at creating a Summer Bucket List. A bucket list is generally a list of things you haven’t done, but would like to do before you die. It can also be narrowed down to a more specific time frame, for example a 30 before 30 bucket list, or a summer bucket list. They are a great idea for keeping yourself on track, and it is so satisfying to get things checked off as you complete them. They also make a great first page for a summertime scrapbook, working almost like a table of contents for the book.
The first thing you’ll want to do it sit down and jot down some ideas of things that you would like to do this summer.
Dragon Boat Racing
Go to the Company Picnic
Camping with friends
Go on the Boat Parade
Eat a Lobster Supper
Go to Shakespeare by the Sea
Check out a movie at the alfresco film fest
Enjoy a cold drink on the patio with some friends
Swim in the ocean
Have a picnic on the Commons
Attend the Seaport Beerfest
Take in the Buskerfest
Build a sandcastle
Finish reading two books
Attend at least one community dance
Once you have everything written down, you may have to take a moment to narrow your list down some if you’ve got an unachievable number of items.
The next step is to turn your bucket list into a beautiful layout. I like to leave a space to tick off each item as it is completed, and since I’m planning on using this page as the first page of my Summer 2013 scrapbook I also am leaving a spot to fill in the date when each event was done. Here’s the layout I came up with using a template from Just Journalin’ Volume 2 and Summer Lovin’.
