The new year is starting to creep upon us and with it a lot of resolutions. I seem to make the same resolution year after year and fail miserably 2 weeks in. Here’s hoping for better luck this year.
In keeping with the start of a new year, we’re sharing a wonderful kit themed for the New Year and Resolutions. It comes from the wonderful brain child of Trixie and Connie Prince, in the form of North Meets South Studios and it’s called New Year, New Me.
I love the pastel color scheme in this kit. It is calming to me and a perfect way to work with the word ‘new’. I am a huge fan of the die-cut looking flowers as well as all the fun circle frames. And if you’ve been around for awhile, you know how wordart always gets me. But enough from my perspective, let’s see what our Stars used this kit for.
Shauna starts us off and used this kit to scrap a single goal. I love that the frame is slightly slanted and doesn’t frame the photo perfectly. Also look at the photo, she included a fun little addition to her photo that matches the theme for her page. Shauna framed the photo beautifully with her choice of elements and her paper choices kept the soft feel to her layout.
Lori used this kit for an everyday type of layout. I love that the photos are on one side of the page and framed with the same frame. The frames look a bit like the wood from her sandbox and work wonderfully with her photos. She has some beautiful clusters along the side of her layout as well as the cute little group on the bottom right of her page.
I like the look of Stacy’s layout. She chose a simple background paper and brought in color from the paper pieces in her blocking. I love the stitching around the outside of the blocks. She also framed her photo with fun elements and made great use of the alpha included in the kit.
Our other Stacey used this kit to scrap a fun birthday memory. I love the way Stacey arranged the letters in her title. I also like the way she arranged her papers. She has some wonderful clusters on her page and I love the little scalloped border along the bottom of her photo.
We will end with Jennifer’s page. First of all I love how honest she is in her goals. I also love the look of the cardstock against the same colored cardstock. Her clustering is wonderful and I love the little paint splatters mixed in.
What can you do with this kit? Do you want to scrap your New Year’s Resolutions or can you think of a way to use this kit in an everyday sort of way? We’d love to see what you can do with New Year, New Me. So go on and download it and then share your work in our gallery.
