December 24th – Wrappings
One of my favorite memories of Christmas as a child is when my sister would sleep in my room so that my grandparents could spend the night. We would wait until the middle of the night and pretend to have to use the bathroom. We would turn on the light in the bathroom and tiptoe out into the family room to grab a peek at what was left under the tree. One year, my sister swore that she caught Santa…but it was just the handlebar from her red and white scooter! My parents caught on after a few years and started to wrap our presents so we couldn’t ruin the surprise! Now that I have children of my own, I love sitting back after the presents are all set out on Christmas Eve and imagine the mess they will make in the morning as they tear into their piles. Does each person in your family have a special wrapping paper? Do you prefer presents wrapped in paper or in reusable bags? What do the piles under your tree look like?
