It’s another Saturday and we’re glad you stopped by. I hope that whatever you happen to be doing today, you are enjoying. My husband and I have a lot to get done, but looking at today’s layouts for our Saturday With The Stars puts me in a jolly enough mood to get almost anything done. Trust me, today’s kit will have you smiling.
My Shelf Elf
Whether you are all about the whole Elf on a Shelf idea, or you’re totally against it – you’ve gotta admit that this kit is chock-full of cuteness. This kit is a collab effort and comes from the efforts of Trixie and Connie Prince who work under the name North Meets South Studios. Take a look:
I can not get over all the cuteness this one kit contains. I absolutely love the little legs showing up in random places. I love that there are both naughty and nice stickers and of course the cute little elf. You can’t resist him. Plus there’s candy cane elements and peppermint candy piece elements that bring My Shelf Elf home.
Some Naughty and Nice Layout Inspiration
Let’s take a look at what some of our Stars have put together using this kit.
We’ll start off with Jennifer. She used this kit for exactly what you’d think to use this kit for – her shelf elf’s adventures. In this particular layout, it looks like her elf recreated a scene from Star Wars. What I love most about this layout is her photograph and that she chose a layout that drew your eyes right to the photo. (Bonus points for having a carpet that works for sand, Jennifer) She then chose a nice peppermint candy border to frame her photo with a cute little banner at the end. I love that the elements are minimal and that her photo goes a long way to tell the story.
Stacey also used this kit to create a two pager of her elf’s adventures. I love that she chose a two page layout – she can fit a whole weeks worth of adventures onto just a couple of pages. I love her paper choices and the way they blend together so well. Her title work is always wonderful and I love that she used the upside down elf stuck in a gift element in her layout.
Don’t do the whole elf thing? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of inspiration for you as well. Check out my layout. We had a family party where we had to quickly dress up, it was fun and this kit provided the perfect playground for a layout.
MK and Shauna both used this kit for things completely unrelated to elves.
MK’s layout focuses on her daughter’s Girl Scout troop caroling at a retirement home. First of all, I love that she captured a moment like this. Secondly, she chose some great photos for this layout. I love all of her cluster work and that she included the nice stamp on this layout, because it truly is a nice thing those girls did.
Finally we’ll take a look at Shauna’s layout. Shauna’s layouts are always full of fun and cheer and her family gives her some classic pictures. This layout is definitely not an exception. I love her layered papers and her clustering. She used a journal tag for her journaling and it works great with the arrangement of her layout. Her title just adds to the humor of the layout.
Are You Naughty or Nice?
Have we given you enough reason to add My Shelf Elf to your stash? If not, you better go check out the rest of the layouts in the gallery and then make sure you add your own layouts to our ‘list’.
Happy Scrappin!
