New Year’s Greetings
Hello, Trixie fans! We’re nearly two weeks into the new year, and I hope that 2015 is starting off on a positive note for you. As I write this, the New Year season is just winding down, and talk of resolutions is all over the news, the web, and the daily paper. So it would make sense that today’s word would be “resolve”…but it’s not. I’m not big on making resolutions, but I did want to choose a word that would allow us to acknowledge this New Year’s tradition if desired. With that being said, let me give you our word for the week: fresh.
A Fresh Start
In keeping with the start of the new year, I’m looking at fresh in terms of getting a fresh start in life. For example, I’ve been messing up my exercise and eating plans recently; with the new year, I am giving myself a fresh start and focusing on being healthy. There are no doubt countless other ways in which I could use a fresh start. Are there ways in which you’d like a fresh start, a “do-over?”
Scrapping this type of page can be a great addition to an All About Me project. I know that I am bad about only scrapping occasions or fun times, and too often I gloss over the not-so-wonderful times in life. But these things are a big part of what makes us unique, and while I might not want everything in my heart posted in galleries around the web, I want to document them for the future. Down the line, I will be able to look back at these pages and see what I’ve come through, and hopefully see how I’ve grown as a person because of it.
I used Trixie’s A Life That’s Good collection on my layout.
Other Uses for “Fresh”
The word “fresh” definitely isn’t limited to the phrase “fresh start.” You might choose to scrap a bouquet of fresh flowers, or a recipe for a favorite fresh garden salad. Perhaps you are like me and are dealing with a child’s fresh attitude. Maybe there’s a fresh new face in your life that you want to remember. Or maybe you want to recall a favorite TV show from your childhood years (hello, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!)
Share Your Layout
This isn’t a scrapbook challenge, but if you do get inspired to scrap something “fresh” in your life, we’d love to see it. If you have personal journaling but still want to share your page design, feel free to blur out or hide the journaling for posting purposes. We would love to see your work in our gallery. Until next time, happy scrapping!
