All About Mom
Today’s post is all about moms! With Mother’s Day coming the 10th, I thought it would be appropriate to make a layout about your mom, grandma, motherly figure in your life, or make one about you as a mother, or make one about what you do to celebrate mother’s day.
We have lots of moms out there, moms of tiny humans, big humans, or our furmommas! Mother’s Day is always a sentimental holiday to make our moms feel great for raising us to be the wonderful people we are or for some to remember moms or grandmas lost. I’m so glad to have my mom still around, she was an excellent mother (that I try to copy) and an even better grandma.
For my page I went with what being a mom means to me. Journaling reads, “Being a mom is something I’ve always knew I wanted. I always said I wanted 3 kids and remember my own mom saying that would be hard, because 2 parents can’t go to 3 places. When I got married and we got pregnant with our first it was so exciting. Every pregnancy was so exciting and so wonderful to grow your own little tiny being that you nurture into a great adult (hopefully I’m not screwing that up horribly). After 2 we thought ok that’s good, but God gave us a bit of a surprise and a family of 5 we are. I have a wonderful mother that I try to base my own mothering on and hope I’m doing as good a job as she did (at least I think I’m a pretty good adult). There are days when running away to China sounds like a good option, but there are other days when hugs and “I Love You’s” are given out freely with nothing attached. This is certainly a more trying job than I imagined it would be, there are multiple things I would do differently if I could, but in the long run they would make my 3 kids different I love them the way they are. My kids are far from perfect little angels, but at least they aren’t little devils (well only occasionaly they are, hence China). So, I LOVE my job and every minute, every trial, every triumph is worth it and makes me, ME. Could I be doing a better job, yeah probably, but hopefully I ‘m doing a good enough job and when they are all grown up they will look back on their childhood with love and fondness like I do”. (Sorry if the journaling is a bit all over, I just sat down and started typing out feelings and that’s what I ended up with)
For my layout I used a new Trixie Scraps release called Brick by Brick (it’s a super cute Lego themed kit, but I went general with it). So scrap up some motherly pages and upload them to the Trixie Scraps gallery so we can check them out. Hope everyone has had a wonderful rest of this weekend and a really wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.
