Yay! It’s almost October! I love fall… it’s my favorite time of year. I am not sweating anymore and I feel great wearing long sleeves, pants, sweaters, and FLEECE! Ah, the soft, comfy feel of fleece. I love the changing colors of the leaves and the crisp, cool air. I actually feel revitalized in the fall. I know not everyone is fond of the impending cold weather, but I am also happy in the winter. Heat and sweating are definitely not my “thing.” I like some things pumpkin spice (like the coffee), going apple and pumpkin picking with my kids, hay rides, and, of course, Halloween! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love this holiday. Anyone and everyone can participate and you can be what you want. Such fun!
October Desktop Freebie
So, on that note, I made you another October desktop freebie with some great fall colors and a hint of some Halloween in it as well. I used the very classy collaboration kit, One Haunted Evening, by North Meets South. If you don’t already have this kit, I highly recommend it.
One Final Question
I have one final thing to ask you all, when you are looking at downloading desktop freebies, do you prefer to have all the clusters and information on the left, right, or middle? I want to make sure you can get something you can use each month. So, feel free to let us know in the comments what your preferences are for placement of elements/photos/calendar on desktop freebies.
Have a great rest of September!

Thanks for the lovely desktop calendar. Left or right placement is fine… the only thing I can think of is try not to put the images/calendar/etc. too close to the bottom edge so that my task bar does block the view.

Excellent suggestion, Lainey. We will definitely keep that one in mind!

I love this, but the one thing is that the calendar is wrong. October 1st is a thursday this year… Also, could we get a version without picture hole in future? I use these for my work desktop and don’t have pictures at work to fill in the spots. Thanks.
Mary Kate says
Pamela, thanks for letting me know about the days being incorrect… they are correct now. I also remade the package to include desktops without a photo slot. Thanks for your comment!

First of all I must say Thank you for the great desktops. I love coming to see them each month. I always download and use the monthly desktop if it has 2 things. #1: 1 or 2 places for photos and #2: if the calendar and photos are on the right-hand side. I have all of my desktop icons on the left side so like to keep that uncluttered. If there isn’t a photo spot sometimes I download it anyway and just create my own frame layer. But with this month’s design on the left I probably will just create my own. But I’m still thankful for you providing the inspiration. 🙂

I prefer stuff on the right/middle ish- otherwise I end up moving around all my folders and such each month.
thank you SO MUCH for doing these. I”m a lazy scrapper and love changing my desktop each month, but would never do it if it wasn’t for awesome people like you providing these for me. (and I love the idea of doing a w/photo and w/out photo each time. I always prefer the with photo slots, but I like idea of doing without for others.)

Love your desktops calendars, thank you!
I like right side placement best for calendar and/or photo slots as my icons are all on the left side of my screen. I love the variety of with and without photo slots as sometimes I don’t have picts to include but still would like to use the desktop.

I usually prefer things on the right myself, and I love the idea of things not being clipped by the bar at the bottom, so up/middle on the right or middle? lol Great job this month! I know it’s half way over, but I love it so much I’ll probably leave it up for 2-3 months. 😉
