Hello all, today it is time for a black and white photo challenge. I love challenges because it helps jump start layouts for me. I also find that I really love using black and white photos on my layouts. Sometimes the theme or colors in a kit really catch my eye, but the photo I want to use doesn’t match it as well as I like. That is when I convert the photo to black and white or even sepia. It is easy to do, I even found some tutorials here on Trixie’s site.
How to make a B&W photo pop with a pop of color or How to convert to black and white without losing contrast or Using Photo Effects in Corel Paintshop Pro
It doesn’t really matter how you get your photo to black and white, for this challenge, it just matters that it is. You can do multiple black and white photos or mix color and black and white. The point is to have at least one black and white photo on the page. I used one photo on my page and it is of my niece and her new husband at their wedding. I changed the photo to black and white so that it would pop against the colors in my kit.
The kit I used is a new one called Crisp Autumn Days Grab Bag and it is on sale through today. I love the fall colors and the awesome plaid papers. Plus it has all kinds of fall goodies in it, including card stocks, pocket cards and templates.
I would love to see what you do with this challenge, so link up your layout in the comments. And don’t forget Crisp Autumn Days is only on sale through today.
