Happy Wednesday, Trixie Scraps Fans and welcome to another Wednesday Wisdom! It’s hard to believe there’s only 9 days until Christmas. 9 DAYS!!! Christmas parties are in full swing, shoppers are everywhere, and Christmas music is everywhere. And that reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas movies, Elf. Elf has so many quotable lines “Santa’s here?! I know HIM!!!!!”
“We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.”
“I just like to smile. Smiling’s my favorite.”
“You sit on a throne of lies.”
The one I like to use when I’m belting out Christmas tunes in the car with my kids and they ask me to be quiet is:
“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”
This time of year I love it when my favorite carols come on the radio, and we all have our favorite versions. For instance, I love the Barenaked Ladies’ version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman and Josh Groban’s version of O Holy Night, Sting’s Gabriel’s Message, Aretha Franklin’s O Tannebaum and Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Eve/Sarajevo and on and on.
My most favorite Christmas music, however, is anything performed by my kids at their annual school Christmas music program. Watching each grade come out on stage for their “15 minutes of fame” with all the little girls dressed up in their holiday dresses and the boys with their hair combed neatly and wearing anything other than track pants and minecraft t-shirts (you boy mom’s know what I mean!), and singing their little hearts out while mom’s and dad’s take video and photos… Who doesn’t leave with a smile on their face and Christmas Cheer in their hearts??
I used Trixie Scraps’ Winter Carolers collection for my page about my kids’ Christmas program.
So now I challenge you – how do you or those around you spread Christmas cheer through song? Share your inspired pages with us at this month in the Trixie Scraps Gallery!
