Happy Saturday to all our blog readers! As I mentioned last month, I have a brand new YouTube channel and I’ve started a video series named Scrap Saturday. If you missed the post, you can read all about it here.
Scrap Saturday Episode 5
In Scrap Saturday Episode 5, I’m working on a layout for the March 2016 Recipe Challenge over at GingerScraps! Plus, I get a little personal and tell you all about how I’ve lost 120 pounds in the last eight months. Lots of people have been asking me, “How are you doing it?!” Well… watch this video and then you’ll know!
Also, I’m accepting questions for next week’s episode of Scrap Saturday – you can ask me anything, whether you want to get to know me better, or have a digital scrapbooking question. Just head on over to the video on YouTube and leave your question in the comments below it. If I select your question to be answered during the episode, I will send a little coupon your way as a thank you!
Hope you enjoy Scrap Saturday Episode 5 – have a great day!! — Trixie

Hey Trixie. Congratulations on your surgery and path to health. While weight has only been a minor, manageable issue for myself, my now deceased sister struggled horribly. Her last 11 years of life were spent in a nursing home with a tracheotomy after reaching a weight of 673lbs. Her son was 14 when she went in to nursing home care. She missed his high school graduation. So sad. My own daughter also has PCOD and has had 4 miscarriages, but one son! She struggles with her weight, and she has to take metformin to manage the diabetes tendencies that come with PCOD. She also has Hashimotos disease – which you mentioned in another scrap video. All this to say that I understand your struggles and wish you continued success. I’ve been digital scrapping since 2009 and actually went looking for you after you left Gotta Pixel. I enjoy your kits; and while I have never been a big template user (I scrap 11 x8 and usually use more photos) watching you scrap has tempted me to incorporate templates into my scrapping. Thanks for sharing. Happy scrapping.

Aww, Kathryn, this was just the kindest, sweetest message to come here and read tonight!
First off, I am so very sorry for the loss of your sister. I know how hard my life was before I had the surgery and though I was very obese, I was considerably smaller than your sister. I can’t even imagine how hard her life was… my heart breaks for her and for her son, as I am sure he misses having his mom in his life.
I am thankful your daughter has been able to have a child, despite the miscarriages. I hope someday I will be lucky enough to overcome the PCOS and have a child or two, as well. I’m running out of time, though – will be 40 in a couple months! I’ve now lost 128 pounds and going strong…. once I lose about 70 more, we may start trying one last time for a baby.
I’m flattered that you came to find me after I left Gotta Pixel – if I can ever help you with something specific, please don’t hesitate to ask! And you may want to keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming Masters Monday… I’m going to be giving some hints and tricks for resizing 12×12 templates so that they work for 8-1/2×11 scrappers! 😉 Thanks again for the kind message – I truly appreciate it! <3
