Candy here with another Sunday Spotlight. This week is especially exciting because I get to introduce you to our new Trixie Scraps Special Agents, Mary Kate, Laina and Michele!
Mary Kate, known around digi-land as Therapy97, was recently featured in a Sunday Spotlight that you can read here.
Tell us a little about yourselves:
Laina
I am a full-time student, mom to an almost 2 year old son , and wife to an amazing husband. Currently I am finishing my BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. I also love Early Childhood Education!
Michele
I grew up a third generation native of San Diego, but soon after I met my husband I moved to Los Angeles, where I was a primary grades teacher for five years, and then the two of us moved all the way across the country to Virginia in 2000. Now I’m mom of three homeschooling kids ages 10, 7, and 4. Besides scrapbooking, I’m also passionate about photography, and I’m a bookworm.
What program do you use to digi-scrap?
Laina
Mainly I use Photoshop Elements 9, I used to work with CS2.
Michele
I was still content to use PSE5 as recently as last autumn, but when I saw Adobe’s Black Friday sale last November, I decided to upgrade to version 9.
Mac or PC?
Laina
I’d love to own a Mac, but for now I use PC.
Michele
Again, I recently switched. After using PCs for eighteen years, in May I got my first iMac. It truly is magnificent.
What is your dream vacation?
Laina
Right now, I have two: One is a getaway for hubby and me so we can truly have a honeymoon, somewhere peaceful and quiet, probably in the Caribbean And the second is a Disney Cruise in the Caribbean or Spain in a few years after we have another child.
Michele
I’d like a historical tour just about anywhere. If I have to pick one country, maybe I’d start in England.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Laina
When I was a young teenager I met the boys of Nsync.
Michele
How famous? I’ve spoken to people who are famous to homeschoolers in Virginia. Probably the closest I ever got to someone famous in film is when I went to a studio screening of Clear and Present Danger soon after I met my husband, who worked at Paramount Studios at the time. Harrison Ford wasn’t there that night, but my husband met him another day.
What is your go-to tool, element, paper, or tool in digi-scrapping?
Laina
I always gravitate towards soft colors, ornate papers, and pretty flowers..even though I rarely get to use them while scrapping my son.
Michele
I do a lot of clipping papers to frames and alphas to coordinate them with my layouts, and I love to blend photos into backgrounds.
What is your favorite Trixie Scraps kit?
Laina
Summer Lovin’
Michele
Spring in the Meadow is the kit that drew me to Trixie Scraps this spring (though I had discovered her some time ago and have some older stuff). The palette is so beautiful, the flowers so realistic, and the stitches so interesting (I love stitching on layouts).
