I’m Theresa, here for Makeover Monday! It’s interesting that I would be posting about “makeovers” this week, since I myself had a bit of a makeover on the weekend, in celebration of my 26th birthday. I had my hair cut from shoulder length to a punky pixie, only a few inches long! And a few weekends ago, I bleached and dyed my hair (temporarily) pink! Those are the pictures that are the inspiration for this week’s layouts!
First up though, is a little introduction to Makeover Monday! This is a bi-monthly feature here on our team blog where we’ll encourage you to dig through that hard drive and find a layout you don’t like so much, then give it a FABULOUS makeover using Trixie Scraps Designs products!
And, here’s how it works: Every two weeks, we’ll be challenging you to makeover a layout with us. We encourage you to make a new layout using the same photos and at least 75% Trixie Scraps Designs products. Then, come here to our blog and post two links for us – one to the old layout and one to the new one! Every two weeks, we’ll choose one person who will win a FREE kit from Trixie’s shop. Sounds fun, right??
I can’t believe it, but NO one played along with our last Monday Makeover Challenge! So come on, this is your chance to turn a layout you may have done that you just feel “meh” about and take it from “Meh” to “Marvelous!”
I got really excited about hosting this week’s challenge because I’ve been really wanting to makeover this layout:
Even though I made this layout just LAST month, I was feeling uneasy about it. The kit I chose fit the theme of the event and I kinda liked the way the cards were “falling”. However, I realized the layout was not my STYLE of scrapbooking, and that’s why it just didn’t look “right” to me.
So here’s my make over! I used the fun and funky Defining Me kit by Trixie Scraps and kept the photos in color, to show off my pink hair for the event! Much more MY style! And the colors and whimsy of the new kit I chose reminds me of the experience and fun I had, much more than the darker colors that simply “matched” the event.
Please join me in the makeover challenge – you never know, you might just win a free kit from Trixie Scraps! Have fun!
