Greetings
Hi, Trixie fans! Today is our Wisdom Wednesday post, and I hope to share some words of wisdom with you today.
Journaling Not Always Necessary
I believe that like myself, many scrappers take a lot of photos. Probably many more photos than we will ever be able to scrap! Many of those photos are event-specific, such as birthday parties and Easter egg hunting. Photos like than tend to lend themselves to journaling about the event. But sometimes, there is a photo that just speaks for itself…it could be a precious face, a breathtaking landscape, or a blazing sunset. When it comes to random photos like those, I can find it difficult to actually journal. But I have found that a poem or a quote often works quite well instead. Sometimes, a few words of wisdom from someone else make a much better statement than anything I could come up with. And sometimes, all that is needed is the picture itself.
Words of Wisdom
I love this sentiment from the ancient Roman poet, Horace. It emphasizes that sometimes I don’t need a bunch of flowery language to express a moment that I’ve caught on camera.
A picture is a poem without words.
Horace
The Layout
This is how I used the quote.
I used Trixie’s Large and In Charge Template vol. 4 Template Pack and Best Guy Ever (retiring soon!), as well as flowers from Day of Grace, and A Life That’s Good.
I hope that you have found some inspiration in Horace’s words. If you scrap with the quote, please link us up so that we can see your page. Until next time, happy scrapping!
