Carrin, my fellow Jersey girl, is a busy mom of three (including a set of twins) who works as a teacher and serves as a chapter advisor for her school’s Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). She grew up in a secluded, wooded town in southern New Jersey, where all conveniences were a 30 minute drive away. Her and her husband have now settled with their family about 40 minutes from where they grew up, and as Carrin says, “At least now there is a Target right around the corner!” Her weekends are generally filled with soccer games and other family adventures, and she likes them that way.
When she is isn’t scrapbooking, Carrin enjoys reading and making crochet projects, but says she tends to get sidetracked with one, while forgetting the other. She usually spends her summers reading a ton of books, but when the fall begins, she switches to crochet mode, prepping for cooler weather making hats and other fun crochet items. Like me, she is a reality show junkie. Her most recent obsession is the show Married at First Sight, where six strangers were selected and paired up by four experts to see if they could scientifically make a lasting match. The first time the couples met was when they married. As Carrin says, “Come on…it’s like watching a train wreck, but I LOVE it!”
Carrin started scrapbooking when her twins were infants in 2007. She took a year off from teaching to spend at home with her babies and her husband decided she needed a hobby, as if taking care of twins full-time did not fill up her day enough! He bought her a copy of Photoshop Elements and a scrapbooking magazine. As they say, the rest is history. Carrin loves that with digital scrapbooking, there is no mess involved – she likes being able to “put away” her projects simply by turning off the computer. Her scrapbooking strength is most definitely her clustering and layering ability – and this strength serves her well in her role as a cluster artist and longest-standing member of my Creative Team.
Carrin is a social butterfly – she couldn’t live without her social networks and loves being able to check on the lives of the people who are most important to her. She would like to be remembered as someone who loved unconditionally, laughed lots and lived fully. Here are a few of her favorite layouts she has completed as a member of my Creative Team:
